San Jose...again

Day 53

Today saw very little of excitement. Kendrick and Abby took off to study, or at least kill time until dinner before thinking about studying, while Liv and I lounged around the apartment. Since we don’t have keys to the complex, we’re both kind of on house arrest without cable to watch the Olympics.

I took off for a run along the only trails around (which have gotten quite old), and added some speed for the return 4 miles. It felt good to get the legs awake again and let out some built up angst. Back at the apartment, Liv and I headed to the pool to try drowning again and spent the remainder of the afternoon swimming.

At 6:30 we were ready for dinner, expecting to walk to Kendrick’s neighbors for a small lasagna dinner. Unbeknownst to us, we had to wait until 8:45 before heading over and built up some pretty good starvation sensations by the time we could eat. The dinner was rather good, but the large crowd of elite pre-law Bar Exam types set us pretty out of place. By the time the U.S. team entered the Opening Ceremonies in Beijing, we were more than ready to call it a night.
