Sterling State Park to Fort Custer State Rec. Area, Augusta, MI

Day 15

Being the only tent at Sterling and the only people under 250 pounds we decided to quickly leave after our neighbors sprayed pesticides to control the bugs around their trailer. Heading for Fort Custer State Recreation Area, we took lunch at a busy small town lake front park. Again too many tubbies. The drive was rural through picturesque farmland to Battle Creek.

At the park, our site was more isolated and quieter than Sterling and we took a quick 3 mile hike around a small lake. Afterward I ran the loop, which was a good trail run. Dinner was excellent fajitas over the fire with baked beans.
